Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Myrtle Beach. Located at 307 Alamo Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205, the museum features an eclectic collection of oddities and puzzling illusions. Highlights of the museum’s collection include an Egyptian temple, a spooky skeleton, and a plethora of hidden objects.
The series was first broadcast on the ABC network in the United States and the United Kingdom from 1982 to 1986. Its first season aired as the highest-rated original series on cable. Later, the show went on to be rerun on the Sci-Fi Channel in the UK and the US. It currently airs on the Biography Channel.
The Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum is a worldwide franchise with 29 museums in different countries. It features hundreds of unique artifacts and interactives. The museums also showcase stories of people and places that are far removed from our daily lives. Some exhibits are interactive, while others are more traditional.
Ripleys Believe It or Not began as a newspaper panel, which grew in popularity. The series later expanded to include television and radio shows. A series of books was also produced. In the 1940s, Ripley died suddenly, a victim of a heart attack.

Ripley’s has a large collection of strange and interesting items from around the world. Its founder, Robert Ripley, traveled to 200 countries searching for oddities and enthralling objects. The museum also has interactive exhibits, including a Harry Potter-inspired dragon, an erector set model of a lunar landing pad, and a rare albino giraffe with two trunks.
The Ripley Collection features over 20,000 photos and 30,000 artifacts, and over one hundred thousand cartoon panels. The museum opened in August 1990 in Buena Park, California, near Knott’s Berry Farm and Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. The museum has more than 80 attractions around the world, with an annual attendance of over twelve million people.
